I chose green for the sashing because I knew I was going to give the to my youngest son, Peter, whose favorite color is green.
I'm not sure why, but this quilt has turned out to be one of my favorites of all the quilts I have ever made...maybe because it's so scrappy? Or maybe because I remember the thrill of winning the blocks two times so close together?
Ginny, Those two months designs work very well together. I'm sure your son will really enjoy sleeping under the sun and stars. I'm another Block Lotto player who doesn't yet have a blog, but will start following yours. Kathie L in Allentown
ReplyDeleteThis is a really inspiring quilt - so many decisions you had to make - but it all goes together perfectly! What a great gift for your son!
ReplyDeleteThe quilts you have pictured in your side bar are all very pretty too.
Looking forward to seeing your projects as you work on them.

Welcome to the world of blogging! I came here from Block Lotto, although I haven't entered any blocks in it yet.
ReplyDeleteI love the circles and stars! Really work well together. The more I see things like this, the more I am drawn to scrappy quilts.
I hope you continue to blog about your stuff because it looks like you do some amazing things.
I just got home from work and saw I had won my second lotto!! I felt sorta guilty (but oh so happy)...then I saw your new blog. Had to come check it out. This quilt is so cool. Since it is made from two wins close together, I don't feel so bad any more. I love what you did with the blocks. It is like it was meant to be.
ReplyDeleteHappy blogging.
Great blog -- congrats on joining the Blogosphere! Your quilt really looks great -- wonderful layout.
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeletefound you through the Block Lotto. I am still so new there, this is my second month, so maybe one day will be MY lucky day, LOL.
You did a great job putting this together and the green really does set it off. Love scrappy anything.
Blessings to you and congrats on your blog!
You do excellent work!
